Alexey Silichev was born in 1991 in the harshly cold Eastern part of Russia close to the Baikal Lake area. When he was nine he moved for family reasons to the island of Sicily in the warm waters of the Mediterranean. During this period he was taught both Italian and English at a renowned language lyceum located in the famous baroque city of Acireale. Growing in an environment bathed by seemingly eternal hot summer days and the dominant presence of Mount Etna, Alexey excelled at the lyceum and developed both his artistic and language skills. In 2004, the family moved away from the warm shores of Sicily to Leipzig, a remnant of the communist past that died in the late 1980s in East Germany. Here Alexey began his more intensive period of schooling at the International School located close to his home in the famous musicians quarter of Leipzig. Learning both German and French in his studies, Alexey became familiar with the multicultural flavour of the institute and started to emerge as a confident and energetic individual developing sporting skills as well as exhibiting both an artistic and acting vein in his character. After successfully passing his IGCSE exams in 2008, Alexey is currently developing the more hidden artistic side of himself and has recently developed a web-site that demonstrates a unique expression of his emotions and feelings in the form of an extravagant but highly sophisticated and mature approach to painting. Alexey´s future aims are to develop further his artistic virtues and continue his studies possibly into the area of art.
